Welcome to the New Home of the Phantom Project!
Hey, there, everybody!
After many long years at our old home on PBWorks, it was time for a change. The Project has been partially inactive for a while due to a lot of life issues on the part of the reviewer, but here we are, back, re-energized, and ready to enjoy even more weird, obscure, or altered versions of the Phantom story!
So what's new at the Phantom Project? Well, a few important things:
1) The old "Project Progress Page" is now housed in the Phantom Library, where every version, spin-off, sequel, or adaptation I can find has its own entry. They're organized by type of material, and you can sort each listing by date, title, author, or publisher, rather than having to scroll all the way through a gargantuan list each time.
2) Each Phantom material in the library has links, if I was able to find them, to places where you can download, purchase, or look for a copy of your own. Hopefully, that'll make it easier for everyone to go out there and be proud Phantom pioneers on their own!
3) Old reviews are being updated, corrected, and re-worded as they're moved over to the new site. That means that if they had any offensive language (by which I mean insensitive to social issues or minority groups, not swearing), it should be removed; if they represent an old opinion from 2007 me, they might be updated. In particular, look for a reduction in anti-Romani racist language for those works that include Romani characters.
4) Reviews now sport warnings! If you hover over the image for a review, a pop-up should inform you of any warnings you might want to be aware of. Please note that these are only available in the Reviews section; you won't see them when you click on reviews from the Library.
I'm still working on a number of other things; for one thing, you'll notice that there are a lot (a LOT) of reviews still to be reviewed, updated, and moved over, so that will probably take a while, and you'll see them appear gradually over time. While I'm doing that, there probably won't be a ton of new reviews, but I'll do my best to make sure it's not too boring around here. As of the writing of this post, all the reviews for games and films have been moved and are live.
It's easier to get hold of me now than it was in the past, too - just hover over the What's New? tab and choose Contact Anne, and presto, you get me!
Other than that, welcome again! If anyone in the Phantom community has any suggestions for things they'd like to see, I'd love to hear them. I can't promise I can do everything, but sharing materials and reviews with all of you has been one of my favorite parts of the last eight years.
